— How to care for your jewelry

Did you know? Every MYA—BAY piece is imagined and hand-drawn by our designer Sophie, then crafted from brass plated with 24k gold or rhodium-plated silver, all 100% recycled. So of course we look after them, pamper them and polish them! But how?

Tip #1
Natural beauty wins! Perfume and cosmetics are your jewelry's worst enemies, so we live by the saying: “A smile is the best make-up a girl can wear.”

Tip #2
We're not mermaids… Water and costume jewelry just don't get along, so we dry our pieces after any contact with fresh water, skip long swims in the sea, and keep them well away from swimming pools!

Tip #3
Speaking of not getting along: leave the housework to your other half, because cleaning products can damage your jewelry — and your pretty fingers too!

Tip #4
Dance, yoga, skydiving: go for it! Just without your MYA—BAY, because sweat burns calories but also takes its toll on your jewelry.

Tip #5
Your jewelry loves to travel, just not loose! Keep it in a little pouch so it doesn't get damaged on the way.

Tip #6
Like us, it sometimes needs a rest, so store your jewelry in its original box to protect it from air and moisture.

Psst: to stop your chains from tangling, leave the clasp outside the box. The ends are where the trouble starts.

Your jewelry prefers dry, temperate spots, so don't leave it lying around the bathroom. Give it a cozy corner in your bedroom, away from moisture and direct sunlight, so it keeps its shine for as long as possible.

Your jewelry won't say no to a little spa session now and then. Gently wipe it with a dry microfiber cloth to bring back its shine.

As for everything else: enjoy, go shopping, dance all night long and laugh (a lot)!
